Build bundle
luastra build bundle
Creates the host-neutral integration artifact in dist/bundle. It contains luastra.bundle.json, content-addressed compiled Luau modules, project-assets.json, and declared project assets, but no VM, renderer, HTML page, or native window.
When to use it
Use when a compatible Luastra host or packaging workflow needs the compiled application separately from its presentation and platform runtime.
- The bundle is not a standalone executable or website and cannot be opened directly.
- Use luastra run for an interactive development preview or luastra build web for a browser-ready artifact.
- A custom desktop, mobile, embedded, or test host must verify the bundle manifest, VM/protocol compatibility, capabilities, module hashes, and asset ledger before loading it into the matching Luastra VM.
- The public alpha CLI intentionally has no application-facing run-bundle command; repository runners are integration tools and do not replace a complete host UI.
